2023 TOURNAMENT

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

2023 World Diabetes Day Hockey Classic Registration Criteria: Ages 8-21 Boy or Girl Living with Type 1 Diabetes* Possess a love of Hockey *Each registered T1D hockey player is allowed to invite 1 NON-T1D player to register and participate with them.
ARE NON-T1D PLAYERS ALLOWED TO PLAY?

Yes.* *Non-T1D hockey players can only register if they have been invited by a registered T1D hockey player. T1D hockey players are invited to ask a best friend, teammate, sibling or family member to join them for this experience.
WHEN IS THE TOURNAMENT?

The 2023 Dskate World Diabetes Day Hockey Classic will take place beginning at 12pm on Friday, November 10, 2023, concluding at 3pm on Sunday, November 12, 2023.
WHERE IS THE CAA CENTRE?

The 2023 Dskate World Diabetes Day Hockey Classic will take place at the CAA Centre, located in Brampton, Ontario (a short drive from downtown Toronto). The CAA Centre is a modern multi-rink complex featuring a 2,500 seat main bowl.
HOW MUCH ICE TIME WILL MY PLAYER RECEIVE?

All players are guaranteed 5 games and 1 Sport-Testing NHL-style Draft Combine.
WHAT ELSE IS INCLUDED?

Each registered player will receive a customized souvenir 2023 Dskate WDDHC uniform (jersey/socks) along with a 2023 WDDHC t-shirt. Other gifts may be provided.
WHO ARE THE COACHES?

Parents and family members are asked to volunteer as coaches for the tournament. As this is a family tournament, we hope that you will join us in making this a successful event. To volunteer as a coach, please email us.
WILL THERE BE T1D SUPPORT?

Yes. There will be a staff of nurses and certified diabetes educators present at the tournament. These staff-members will be assigned to support teams before/during/after games, offering T1D care and support in order to allow the T1D players to enjoy themselves, focus on playing hockey and having fun.
WILL THERE BE T1D EDUCATION?

Diabetes industry partners and sponsors will be present. Special guests and experiences may be provided.

The 2023 Dskate World Diabetes Day Hockey Classic is proud to offer discounted room rates through our partners at the Westin Toronto Airport. This special offer will be made available to all registered players.
